That is until Adam Edgerton returns to the sleepy district. This decorated war hero did not arrive home to acclaim and rest, but to a new battle against the repercussions of an insidious disease. BOOK REVIEW
This is a book full of faith. The main characters are God-loving and faith is woven throughout the entire novel. And not just Godly talk, but the deep belief that God is alive and working in people today. The concept was wonderful and powerful. I liked that the Mary was someone who stood up for herself and filtered everything through her faith. Her care of others was clearly written and she and Adam had a touching relationship.
I do wish I would have learned more about some of the secondary characters, such as Mary's sister--while they played minor roles, there was more to their stories I wanted to know. This was my first novel by Carolyn Miller. I look forward to finishing this series and reading more of her books.
