Book Review: When Forever Comes by Tawni Suchy

ABOUT THE BOOK
When Olivia Swann discovers her cheating fiancé tangled up with her now ex-best friend, her sister takes her on the trip of a lifetime to Amber Island.

Amber Island is home to The Golden Sands, the most exclusive resort in the world and part two of her sister's surprise. After a series of unfortunate events, she comes face to face with a man she hasn’t seen in ten years. The man who stole her heart and vanished without a trace or a goodbye.

She doesn’t recognize her old best friend at first, but the spark that once was there—still flickers despite the years and distance between them.

Will forgiveness win? Or will bitterness and the ache of old wounds burn down their second chance at forever?

REVIEW
This was a quick read, just a couple hours. A novella really. It was a cute story about a guy and girl who’ve pined after one another since high school but circumstances tore them apart. I'm not a fan of the whole dumped right before the wedding scenario...and the high school bully out for revenge all these years later...a fit far fetched for me. Reading the excerpt from book two actually seems like it might be more to my liking. The best part of this story was the flashbacks to their high school memories. I think the entire thing could have been stretched and made into a full-length novel, giving us better insight to why Olivia was ever going to marry her ex-fiancé.
